I’m fascinated by the body-breath-mind connection and how these interrelate to determine how we feel, both emotionally and physically. I love working with clients to help them find balance, accessing the amazing tools we all have within us.
Previously working in the corporate world, after 15 years my mind and body felt completely out of balance, and I realised that it was time for a change. Over the last 7 years I have created a different kind of life. In addition to teaching yoga, I am qualified as both a breath therapist and hypnotherapist and find that in bringing the two together there is potential for supercharging positive change.
I am also passionate about raising dementia awareness and volunteer as a Dementia Friends Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society. Getting outside makes me very happy and walking the stunning South Downs is my green therapy.
My teaching is influenced by a number of different schools of yoga and movement, and probably doesn’t have a label any more. I’d probably rather call it ‘yoga inspired movement’. The common thread that runs through all my movement classes is giving you space to explore, an invitation to be curious about yourself and the confidence to trust the intelligence of your own body.
My approach combines the power of the breath, with learning from the worlds of physiology and neuroscience, alongside modern hypnotherapy. This collaborative work can support you in creating positive change in areas such as confidence, anxiety, fears and phobias, pain, sleep and eating habits/weight loss. Breath therapy techniques are not yogic breathing (pranayama) and do not involve physical exercise. I also offer breath therapy as a stand-alone therapy to improve overall wellbeing, address dysfunctional breathing patterns, and reduce and relieve the symptoms of Long Covid.
I am fully qualified and insured to teach yoga and practice hypnotherapy and breath therapy on a worldwide basis.
